The study identifies and examines the biomechanical risk factors at various fruit and vegetable handling stations to learn about process configurations and suggest ergonomic improvements. A number of handling stations in companies associated with FREMAP in the Almeria area have been analysed using inertial measurement units which record information on the movements performed in each body segment and compare them with the ergonomic limits set by the reference standards.
The study includes a quantitative analysis of the common contingencies recorded between January 2018 and December 2022, segmented into three age brackets: under 35 years, from 35 to 49 years and over 49 years.
To this end, 4,701,464 sick leave cases have been analyzed, totaling 179,485,993 days of sick leave, with an average population of 2,981,145 employed workers protected by FREMAP.
The procedure of temporary incapacity is a basic indicator that allows us to assess its impact on health and in organisations.
Although health should be addressed through a holistic approach based on physical, mental and social well-being, the study of temporary incapacity allows us, by observing aspects that affect health, to assess the impact and evolution of injuries and illnesses that temporarily disqualify the worker from performing work activity, and to obtain key information to establish programmes aimed at promoting health in work centres.
Reducing the incidence of mental health disorders requires a paradigm shift to a comprehensive approach, which includes programmes on psychosocial well-being and stress reduction.
This study, carried out by the "FREMAP Health Observatory", examines in depth the different aspects affecting serious and fatal accidents in traffic accidents at work by analysing a selection of the last 500 cases registered at the mutual insurance company that have resulted in the death or permanent disability of the injured party.
FREMAP, has conducted a study on the processes of sick leave due to occupational contingencies based on statistical variables (age, gender, type of contract, size and sector of the company's activity, and group of pathologies) that allow establishing profiles and trends and that can help member companies implement improvement programmes with the aim of promoting health and establishing projections of future scenarios.
At FREMAP's Sub-Directorate General of Management, we carried out a study on the temporary disability of our protected population during the 2009/2018 period, in which we studied the behaviour of different variables: such as the type of contingency plan, gender, age, size of the company, as well as the average duration of leave, and, in particular, leave lasting more than 90 days.
FREMAP has carried out an analysis of Musculoskeletal Disorders or MSDs and the temporary disability that affects workers in the agro-food industry. The health and financial repercussions of MSDs are so high that workplace prevention, with the support of the Social Security Institute, is essential.
FREMAP has conducted a study on temporarily disabled employees from every Autonomous Community, which analyses various indicators to obtain more information on any aspects that may have an impact on the temporary disability process.
